For administrative control and technical operations, six Regional Meteorological Centres (RMCs) function with their headquarters at Kolkata, Chennai, Guwahati, Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi.

State Meteorological Centre at GANGTOK, SIKKIM is responsible for the weather related activities of the four regions: East, West, North and South Sikkim.
